Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell began as a radio and TV reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, she joined the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV located in Washington DC (then WTOP). She was promoted to Washington general reporter to NBC News two years later. The year 1981 saw her begin covering the White House and became chief Congress correspondent in 1988. Mitchell was promoted to the Chief White House correspondent in 1992. As well as the chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell hosted and was a panelist at the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the debate in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her work in the defense of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was a reporter at for the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. She reported on a variety of interesting stories such as arm control, budget tax reform and the Iran-contra scandal and was frequently along with President Reagan for summits together with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
